NEW DIRECT FLIGHT FROM LONDON TO BALI TO LAUNCH 22 JANUARY

January 16thBali, Indonesia

Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia’s national carrier, will begin direct flights from London to Bali from 22 January 2019. Where UK travellers previously had to connect in Singapore or Jakarta to get to Denpasar, they can now fly directly to the beautiful island of Bali, adored from all corners of the world for its black sand beaches, striking sunsets, Hindu temples and some of the world’s best surfing spots. The 7,760-mile flight, which will take 15 hours and 35 minutes, will operate three times a week, opening the doors for easy access to the destination. Travellers seeking the very best of Bali can combine the buzzy Seminyak with surfer’s paradise Uluwatu staying at two of the finest and most exclusive hotels in Bali – The Legian Seminyak (the iconic favourite) and Six Senses Uluwatu (the new kid on the block).

Travellers can hop off the plane from London and travel just a short 25-minute drive to the iconic The Legian Seminyak, with its unparalleled views overlooking Seminyak Beach. Built over 20 years ago, The Legian Bali is one of the island’s best loved hotels. It has truly stood the test of time and is still the luxury traveller’s top choice in Seminyak thanks to its elevated location over Bali’s best beach as well as its superb choice of 14 private pool villas and 67 sea-facing suites. The Legian recently introduced its new concept ‘Wellness by The Legian’ incorporating spa treatments inspired by the rich local healing heritage, the perfect way to relax and unwind after a long flight. The Legian Seminyak is also the ideal base for guests to explore the boutique shopping scene and vibrant nightlife of trendy Seminyak.

After enjoying bustling Seminyak, travellers can head just 45 minutes around the coast to the new Six Senses Uluwatu, which launched Summer 2018. The resort is an exciting new Balinese retreat, set atop a rugged cliff, sharing spectacular ocean views with the island’s famed Uluwatu Temple. Drawing upon the renowned Six Senses commitment of providing top-tier facilities wedded to environmental responsibility, the resort and spa has been brilliantly designed. The resort is also home to two restaurants, a pool bar, a Chef’s Table, cooking school and an extensive organic garden. This coastline is one of the top places on the island to see Bali’s spectacular sunset with sweeping panoramas out to the Indian Ocean and travellers keen to test out a surfboard can enjoy world-famous waves.

HOW: The new flight route with Garuda Indonesia will depart every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from London Heathrow Airport to Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar, Bali.
