In January 2018, The Safari Collection is set to launch a one-of-a-kind, four-day Wilderness Wellness Retreat at Sasaab Lodge in Kenya’s Northern Frontier District.

Armed with the expertise of Kenya’s foremost personal trainers and Pilates coaches, Karina Walsh, and therapeutic chef Heather Cuthbert, The Wilderness Wellness Retreat will combine Pilates classes in the dry riverbed, runs and walks with Samburu warriors, and strength training in the pool which often overlooks herds of elephants. At the end of the day, guests can then hike Sundowner Rock to catch the breath-taking African sunset whilst replenishing energy levels with Heather’s detoxifying elixirs. Not only will guests enjoy her fresh cuisine throughout their stay, but they will also be able to learn a trick or two about mindful nutrition as Heather hosts a cooking class and demonstration with organic, gluten-free recipes.
In the heartland of the Samburu tribe, famed for their colourful clothing, rich beadwork and vibrant culture, guests can then spend their downtime reconnecting with themselves and with nature. Sasaab Lodge’s signature and indulgent SpaSaab offers an array of unique treatments, and each room comes equipped with its very own private plunge pool for exclusive relaxation. In addition, Sasaab offers unparalleled access to the magnificent animals that call the Kenyan landscape home, with guests able to complement their wellness experience with game drives through the Samburu National Reserve to spot leopards, cheetah, lions, zebra, antelope, ostrich and giraffe, and reconnect with nature.
