THE SNOW POLO WORLD CUP ST MORITZ – 24–27 JANUARY
St. Moritz has played host to the Snow Polo World Cup, the world’s only super-glamorous high goal polo tournament played on ice, since 1985. During the last weekend of January, visitors flock to the frozen lake of St. Moritz to watch experienced polo players from all over the world battle it out on the ice field. A glitzy affair, an exquisite selection of food and champagne is on offer for spectators, as well as exclusive evening events which take place for post-polo entertainment. Suvretta House offers an exclusive Snow Polo package which includes three-nights’ accommodation at the hotel, VIP tickets for the Snow Polo and champagne, chocolates and fruit in the suite upon arrival.

FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD! ST. MORITZ GOURMET FESTIVAL – 31 JANUARY – 8 FEBRUARY
Discover the culinary delights of the Upper Engadin Valley at St. Moritz’s annual Gourmet Festival. Now in its 27th year, the festival works with the top hotels to bring together talented chefs from around the world and offer a calendar packed with foodie experiences. Suvretta House hosts a number of mouth-wateringly good events across the eight days including a five-course Fascination Champagne dinner and a Piemonte wine tasting with dinner. The festival is rounded off with a Porsche Gourmet Finale at Suvretta House, where a Champagne reception is followed by a 5-course meal with each course being specially designed by an international female chef.

WHITE TURF – ST MORITZ’S ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE RACE ON ICE – 2, 9 & 16 FEBRUARY
White Turf is a spectacular annual event which sees over 30,000 spectators, jockeys and thoroughbreds from around the world descend on the frozen lake of St. Moritz for three Sunday’s of horse-racing on ice. High society guests will not only enjoy thrilling horse racing, but also gourmet catering, lively music and inspiring art exhibitions.

READY, SET, SNOW! THE ENGADIN SKI MARATHON – 8 MARCH
The Engadin ski marathon is an epic 42 km cross-country ski race through the scenic mountains of St. Moritz, across frozen lakes, and through the famous forest of Staz. This is the largest cross-country skiing event in Switzerland and the second largest in the world – with skiers racing from the Maloja pass to the S-chanf municipality. During marathon week there is also the Engadin Women’s Race, the Youth Sprint, and the moonlit Engadin Night Run. Post-race, runners should recuperate in the spa at Suvretta House, where weary muscles can be pampered with ila and Clarins body treatments.

HIT THE SLOPES
St. Moritz is well known as the birthplace of alpine sports and Suvretta House is the only hotel in the area with direct ski-in / ski-out access to the 217 miles of piste, 136 miles of cross-country ski trails and 93 miles of winter walking paths. On site ski, snowboard and boot hire is available, as well as heated lockers to store wet clothes. The Suvretta Sports School – one of the largest ski schools in St Moritz – offers private and group classes. Skiers can explore the extensive ski areas including Corviglia, Diavolezza and Corvatsch, as well as well-groomed cross-country ski trails. Thrill-seekers will love that St. Moritz is also home to the Cresta Run, a world-championship bobsled run made of natural ice. Those after something at a slower pace can try their hand at curling on Suvretta House’s very own natural curling rink, which is at the side of the hotel.
