The event aims to recreate the glorious summers of the 1920s when afternoons at Gleneagles were spent sipping champagne, socialising and sporting.  The event’s centerpiece will be the head-to-head tennis match between former Wimbledon players Xavier Malisse and Henri Leconte who will battle it out with traditional wooden rackets on Gleneagles’ outdoor courts, where tennis has been played for the best part of a century. The party will begin with a champagne welcome for guests on the hotel terrace with live jazz music and canapés. The famous Gleneagles Afternoon Tea will be served before the match unfolds, showcasing products from the new Gleneagles & Co artisan food range along with delicious cakes from the award-winning Gleneagles pastry chefs, and traditional Perthshire strawberries and cream.  A truly British affair – croquet will also be played on the front lawn, with lessons and help for beginners.  Celebrating the hotel’s rich and glamorous heritage, the Glorious Garden Party will be an event where guests can mingle and relax against the backdrop of the panoramic views of the Perthshire countryside.
