Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is set to unveil its first resort in the Austrian Alps in 2022. Embedded in the largest protected habitat in Europe – the Hohe Tauern National Park – Six Senses Kitzbühel fuses high octane Alpine lifestyle with the sensual tranquility of a true Six Senses resort.  Featuring interiors by acclaimed designer Martin Brudnizki, who has broken away from conventions and created daring yet elegant and timeless residences which are deeply rooted in regional traditions, this project perfectly embodies Six Senses’ core ethos with sustainability at its heart.
Comprised of 77 rooms and suites, as well as 15 chalets and 45 apartments this village-like resort is the first of its kind in the Austrian Alps.  Blending into the natural surroundings, Brudnizki has brought the outdoors in to create a sense of nature in the living space.  The residences will embody a home from home feel through the use of local and organic materials; exposed timber panels and local stone are softened with the use of leather and wool. Deep hues of forest green, warm ochre and sky-blue pay homage to the location in which it resides.
Walther Staininger, Owner and Developer comments, “With Six Senses Kitzbühel Alps we are aiming to  create a new Alpine way of life an environmentally conscious joie de vivre. Away from absorption in our digital    aliases and hectic lives, simply back to pure. In harmony and in connection with all the beauty that surrounds us.

Brudnizki remarks, “We feel like the early day explorers, discovering new terrains and unchartered territories. It’s great to work with progressive developers who allow us to execute our vision and go to places never gone before. We challenge ourselves every single day on this project to stay true to our style, develop it further, and to deliver on the Six Senses out of the ordinary brand promise.”

Offering unobstructed views onto the highest peaks of the Austrian Alps, the 15 chalets will offer 4-5 bedrooms and up to 400 sqm of living space as well as an open-plan kitchen and state-of-the-art equipment.  Here, residents can cook up delicious delights from the on-site farmers market, or have a chef prepare a range of dishes using home grown organic ingredients.  Owners can also enjoy ski in, ski out access and a private sauna.  Taking the merging of sustainability and luxury one step further, residents who purchase a chalet will be among the first to own and drive the latest all-electric Porsche Taycan.  The all new zero-emissions supercar is the perfect accessory for a chalet that not only aims to set new standards in Alpine aesthetics but also defines the very essence of sustainable living.  Residents will also have use of the Porsche designed e-bikes to get around the village-style resort.

The emphasis on sustainability will be prevalent in the varied foodie offerings across Six Senses Kitzbühel.  Adopting a farm-and-forest to table concept, the chefs will use produce from local mountain farmers combined with ingredients from the onsite herb garden.  The Tavern will be an all-day lodge-style restaurant which further reflects Brudnizki’s vision of bringing nature into the living, dining and entertainment spaces. With dark green booths, stone underfoot and an open kitchen, guests will be able to interact with the chefs as they cook up delectable creations.  The Kitchen will have a more holistic approach to dining – from foraging to cooking under open fires. In the warmer summer months, residents can dine al fresco under the pergola, whilst in the winter, diners will still be able to marvel at the stunning views thanks to the glazed wall design.  The Cabin bar will provide a secluded space to relax and unwind for a pre or post-dinner cocktail whilst The Pantry is the perfect stop off to grab a fresh coffee or enjoy a light bite before heading out to explore the forests and surrounding mountains.

As with all Six Senses properties, Six Senses Kitzbühel will pride itself on offering out of the ordinary experiences.  Think destination dining in igloos and tree pods, forest bathing in the enchanting woods and learning about the wonders of the surrounding environment at the Earth Lab.  A mecca for lovers of the great outdoors, guests can also expect world-class skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and sledding in the winter as well as extensive hiking, cycling and swimming in the summer.  With dramatic glaciers within driving distance, ski lovers will also have the chance to practice their favourite sport in the summer. Those in need of some R&R will love the state of the art Six Senses Spa. With cutting edge design, the spa will be spread across three floors featuring indoor and outdoor pools, a non-invasive anti-aging centre, a biohack lab and a kid’s spa, providing a haven of tranquility for visitors of all ages.
