A RETURN TO THE GOLDEN AGE OF MEDITERRANEAN GLAMOUR FOR THE ANNABELLE, CYPRUS

The Annabelle - one of the most iconic hotels in the Mediterranean - that has been leading the way in the Cypriot hospitality scene for over three decades, will complete a major transformation this Spring.

February 5thCyprus

The hotel, which occupies six acres of luxurious gardens along the seafront of Paphos, will open its doors in April to reveal the completion of its €10 million Euro transformation.  Taking place over the past two years, this is the biggest renovation in the Annabelle’s 30-year history and the finishing touches include a new rooftop pool, bar and restaurant, wellness centre and stunning suites offering panoramic views of the Mediterranean.

Thanos Hotel’s continued investment marks a new phase for the group and follows the lead of sister hotels Anassa and Almyra, which relaunched in 2016 and 2017, propelling them back onto the world’s travel hotlists. The Annabelle is open year-round and offers a superb place to stay for winter sun with rates from €148 per night.

A COOL AND CONTEMPORARY NEW ROOFTOP DESTINATION

The new rooftop area – the first of its kind in a five star hotel in Cyprus – will present a subtle modern take on the hotel’s enduring classical charm, transforming the hotel with a new indoor swimming pool overlooking the bay with spectacular views of the sea. The new restaurant and bar, with floor to ceiling windows, will serve Mediterranean and Greek fusion cuisine as well as healthy salads and daily Afternoon Tea, offering year-round destination dining. The bar will offer a stylish spot to enjoy cocktails and al fresco dining day and night.

STATE-OF-THE-ART WELLNESS CENTRE

For the first time in its history, the hotel will welcome a new state-of-the-art wellness centre where guests can relax. The Ouranos Wellbeing Spa, meaning ‘sky’ or ‘heaven’, will be located on the top floor of the hotel with uninterrupted views of the Paphos Bay. Home to four treatment rooms, expert therapists will be on hand to deliver soul enriching and body pampering treatments by ila and Osea – an all natural brand made from superfood ingredients such as seaweed and Algae to offer body detoxification treatments and nourishing facials. Personal training and fitness classes will also be available.

NEW SUITES WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN

Completing the refurbishment will be the addition of 26 new bedrooms including 5 duplex suites and one superior suite, each offering spectacular views out to sea. In true Annabelle style, the rooms will reflect the hotel’s colonial-chic charm coupled with a contemporary twist. Cool white walls and Mediterranean-hued fabrics will sit alongside wooden furnishings and traditional shuttered doors. Working with the same artisans since the hotel’s inception, Annabelle will showcase the creations of her inspiring team of Cypriot-based craftsmen and women who custom build all the hotel’s bespoke furniture.

First opening its doors in 1985 by George Thomas, The Right Honourable Viscount Tonypandy, the Annabelle was the first ever five-star hotel to open in Paphos. The hotel’s fiercely loyal guests are testament to the beauty of the hotel’s setting and soulful charm of its staff, who keep people coming back for more.  The hotel is a ‘home from home’ for many and thanks to its spectacular setting in serene sea-front gardens, it is a perfect year-round holiday spot.
