The OWO and Raffles London at The OWO is now open

October 29thLONDON

London, United Kingdom, 29 September 2023 – The OWO, a magnificent new destination, opens today at one of the most powerful addresses in London. Set in a building of epic proportions, The OWO is home to the first Raffles hotel in London, The OWO Residences by Raffles, and a collection of independent restaurants and bars drawn from dynamic culinary hubs across the globe. The OWO heralds a new chapter for Whitehall, an area synonymous with politics, as an exciting place to drink and dine, celebrate, be entertained, rest and recharge, stay and live.

The OWO is a legendary building with a storied history. From the outset of the project, we have gone above and beyond to ensure that this jewel in the heart of Whitehall is restored, curated and revived in the most appropriate way to deliver a heritage site for the next generations,” said Sanjay Hinduja from Hinduja Group.

The highly anticipated Raffles London at The OWO is the first property in the UK for Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and features 120 spacious guest rooms and suites, signature dining experiences by chef Mauro Colagreco, impressive entertainment spaces including a grand ballroom, and an extensive spa in partnership with Guerlain and Pillar Wellbeing.

We are honored to be part of this monumental project. Opening Raffles London at The OWO within this historical building is an incredible highlight and marks one of the most important moments in the history of the Raffles brand which has long been synonymous with legendary service, glamor, art, and storied destinations,” said Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles & Orient Express.

From the dazzling beauty of the Grand Staircase, elegantly wrapped around a breath-taking chandelier, to the mosaic-tiled floors and oak-panelled walls, Raffles London pays homage to the building’s history whilst providing a sense of timeless luxury. Guests can retrace the steps of some of the most influential leaders of the 20th century and reflect on the pivotal decisions made within its storied walls. Custodians of the building, Hinduja Group and Onex Group have been passionately committed to the revival of the former Old War Office’s heritage features, employing the expertise of hundreds of craftsmen throughout its comprehensive eight-year restoration.

We are excited to provide guests with the highly personalized and intuitive service for which Raffles is known the world over, in an unparalleled setting. We have been very fortunate to work with world-class partners in delivering this new destination, talented designers, world-class chefs and visionary restaurateurs alongside the preeminent names in the world of fragrance, beauty and wellness. I am both honored and privileged to have been part of this historic project that has surpassed all expectations. It is truly a legend in the making,” said Philippe Leboeuf, Managing Director of Raffles London at The OWO.

At Raffles London, handsome State Rooms and grand spaces have been transformed into 120 guest rooms and suites by famed designer, the late Thierry Despont. Situated in the historically significant areas of the building are the Heritage Suites, former offices of influential political and military leaders. The Haldane suite, formerly the office of Winston Churchill, John Profumo and Sir Richard Haldane can be combined to create a six-bedroom, 5,381 sqft suite. Known as The Whitehall Wing, this can accommodate up to twelve guests – one of the largest luxury hotel wings available in London.

Also highlighted are eight Corner Suites which are named after notable women and female spies connected with the history of The OWO. Situated in the rounded pavilion corners of the building these honor influential women such as Viscountess Astor and Clementine Churchill as well as WWII operatives such as Christian Lamb and British female spy Vera May Atkins.

Renowned chef Mauro Colagreco has partnered exclusively with Raffles London to lead three unique dining experiences at the property. These three diverse concepts will showcase the beauty of the UK’s best seasonal produce, sourced from local farms, fields and shores across the country.

At his signature restaurant, Mauro Colagreco at Raffles London at The OWO, diners will witness Mauro’s culinary innovation and passion for sustainability through his commitment to sourcing local, seasonal ingredients. Dishes here will highlight the rich diversity of native British vegetables, delivered through a series of tasting menus. Next door, Mauro’s Table is an intimate space centered around an impressive dining table for up to 23 guests. Backed by a dramatic show kitchen, head chef Leonel Aguirre will take diners on a sensory journey through English gardens.

Mauro’s relaxed dining restaurant, Saison, will put a contemporary spin on the traditional hotel restaurant. Serving seasonal Mediterranean cuisine throughout the day including breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, this elegant space occupies a former historic library of the Old War Office. True to its name, Saison will reflect chef Colagreco’s philosophy and commitment to seasonal cuisine.

Raffles London also debuts two atmospheric bars in settings like no other. The Guards Bar and Lounge honors The OWO’s long association and historic connections with the Household Cavalry. Featuring a thoughtful menu of 16 drinks, with a focus on British ingredients intertwined with flavors from the East, The Guards Bar and Lounge will feature its own signature ‘London Sling’. Further outlets at the hotel include The Drawing Room, a relaxed all-day lounge overlooking Horse Guards, and Pillar Kitchen, a well-being-focused outlet that will go beyond healthy food.

Well-being is integral to Raffles London at The OWO, with a state-of-the-art Guerlain Spa spanning 27,000 sqft over four floors. Designed by Goddard Littlefair, the spa space offers an impressive range of facilities and services to provide guests with a truly indulgent spa experience. These include a cutting-edge gym and movement studio, a stunning 20m swimming pool surrounded by luxurious loungers, a vitality pool, and steam and sauna rooms. Nine exquisitely designed treatment suites are also available, including three spacious VIP Spa Suites and L’Atelier Guerlain, a private beauty and hair treatment space.

Movement, recovery and nutrition experts, Pillar Wellbeing, founded by elite performance coach Harry Jameson, will enable members to reach their full potential through personalized, innovative training and nutrition. The spa will be open to guests at Raffles London, residents of The OWO Residences by Raffles, Raffles Wellbeing members and day guests.

Raffles London will be the new venue of choice for the city’s most important occasions – from glamorous weddings and history-making state dinners to larger-than-life business events and launches. With access via the exceptional Grand Staircase, the extraordinary Whitehall Ballroom offers capacity for up to 600 guests, complemented by an extensive pre-function space and dedicated meeting rooms, named Morse and Code, making Raffles London a spectacular stage for the most dazzling celebrations.

The project has brought together some of the world’s most talented architects and designers with a master plan that includes an incredible collection of restaurants and bars, the UK’s first Raffles hotel, The Guerlain Spa, and 85 private residences. There truly is nowhere else like it in London,” added Abdellah Belhadh Hamlili, Board Member Onex Group.

OKU Hotels Debuts Adults-Only Sanctuary in Bodrum

The design-forward brand brings barefoot luxury, boho-chic minimalism, and slow living to the Aegean coast.

Bodrum

The Turkish Riviera has welcomed a major new design destination with the opening of OKU Bodrum. Marking the award-winning lifestyle brand’s official debut in Türkiye, this intimate, adults-only sanctuary is carved into the rugged northern coast of the Bodrum Peninsula. Framed by dramatic mountain backdrops on one side and the glittering, turquoise Aegean Sea on the other, the 58-room boutique property joins the brand’s acclaimed portfolio in Ibiza, Kos, and Andalusia, bringing a refined philosophy of barefoot luxury and slow living to one of Europe’s most sought-after summer coastlines.

True to the brand’s name derived from a Japanese architectural concept meaning ‘inner space’, the design seamlessly blends a minimalist, boho-chic aesthetic with distinct Turkish heritage. Earth-toned linens and contemporary lines are balanced by walls crafted from reclaimed stone and striking accents of local marble. In a special collaboration with leading Turkish art curator Begüm Güney, the property features unique sculptural installations that connect the architecture directly to the land. Every single one of the 58 guest rooms and suites offers front-facing sea views and private terraces, with many featuring private or shared plunge pools tucked into the hillside.

The culinary landscape at OKU Bodrum introduces three distinct dining destinations that champion locally sourced produce and bold, vibrant flavors. At the heart of the hotel is To Kima, a relaxed poolside restaurant serving Mediterranean classics with Asian-inspired twists. As the sun sets, guests can head to The Round Bar on the cove-side jetty for crafted cocktails and local meze snacks against panoramic coastal views, or dine at Teyo Bodrum, an open-air dinner concept where Japanese culinary techniques meet a vibrant South American spirit.

Wellness and exploration are woven deeply into the guest experience, anchored by the serene OKU Spa. The facilities include a traditional Turkish hammam, a sauna, a sea-view fitness area, and open-air treatment cabanas right on the water’s edge. Beyond standard therapies, the wellness program features sunrise beachside breathwork and dusk sound healing sessions. For those looking to connect with the local culture, the hotel coordinates curated experiences ranging from garden-to-glass foraging workshops in the surrounding hills to guided hikes and visits to traditional artisanal weaving studios. With direct access to a protected swimming bay and a private jetty for boating adventures, the retreat offers an ideal balance of secluded relaxation and easy access to Bodrum’s famous marinas.

Claridge’s and The Newt in Somerset Bring Rural Charm to London

London

Claridge’s has officially unveiled A Farm in Mayfair, a spectacular two-week sensory installation in collaboration with the renowned Somerset estate, The Newt. Running from Monday 18th May until Sunday 31st May 2026 to coincide with the iconic RHS Chelsea Flower Show, this unique partnership transforms the hotel’s legendary Art Deco lobby into a rural oasis. Visitors and guests are invited to experience the rich sounds, scents, and textures of the countryside right in the heart of the capital, complete with a naturalistic meadow planting of British-grown grasses and native perennials inspired by The Newt’s vibrant spring gardens.

At the center of this transformation is a breathtaking, six-meter-tall sculptural tower made entirely from 60,000 rods of locally grown Somerset willow. Crafted by a team of skilled British artisans using both traditional and contemporary weaving techniques, the monumental piece took ten people 148 days to complete. The structure features beautifully woven figures of water buffalo, British White cattle, a stag, and chickens ascending toward the sky, all paying homage to the estate’s rich agricultural heritage. At the very peak sits a single willow egg symbolising seasonal renewal, while the experience extends throughout the hotel with willow-framed archways, facade decorations, and a stunning hallway installation of 800 fresh apples for guests to take home.

The collaboration beautifully extends beyond the visual and into the culinary, with Claridge’s menus completely embracing the bounty of the Somerset estate. Throughout the fortnight, guests dining in The Foyer and Reading Room can savor exclusive dishes featuring estate-reared British White beef, lamb, heritage tomatoes, and fresh buffalo mozzarella from The Newt’s own Creamery. Dessert menus will spotlight seasonal rhubarb, strawberry, and apple creations, while Claridge’s Bar will be pouring The Newt’s signature Cyder. To commemorate the event, a limited-edition Claridge’s x The Newt tote bag will also be available to purchase online and in both properties’ boutiques.

For those looking to fully immerse themselves in this unique celebration of British hospitality and artistry, a special Claridge’s X The Newt Stay package is available for booking. Starting from £1,120, the exclusive experience includes luxury overnight accommodation, bed and breakfast, a curated three-course dinner in The Foyer showcasing the collaboration’s estate-to-table menu, and a selection of handpicked welcome gifts from The Newt. Inside Casa Bonavita, Malta’s Stunning New Design Retreat

Inside Casa Bonavita, Malta’s Stunning New Design Retreat

Inside Casa Bonavita, Malta’s Stunning New Design Retreat

Following a meticulous seven-year restoration, Christopher and Suzanne Sharp transform a historic Attard estate into an intimate, character-rich retreat.

Attard, Malta

After a meticulous seven-year restoration, Casa Bonavita has opened its doors in the historic village of Attard, introducing a deeply personal new style of hospitality to Malta. Conceived as a house first and hotel second, the 17-bedroom retreat is the first hospitality venture from Christopher and Suzanne Sharp, the celebrated design duo behind The Rug Company. Shaped by Suzanne’s Maltese upbringing and the couple’s long-standing love for the island, the estate eschews polished Mediterranean luxury in favor of an authentic celebration of Malta’s eccentricities, faded grandeur, and rich cultural heritage.

Throughout the property, Suzanne Sharp Studio has masterfully revived the building’s original grandeur while preserving the unmistakable warmth of a private home. Soaring ceilings and noble architectural proportions are layered with vintage family heirlooms, frescoed walls, and bespoke artistic commissions. Notable collaborations include local pottery house Villa Bologna and a hand-painted 17th-century Valletta wallpaper by de Gournay in the intimate cocktail bar. Mirroring this thoughtful craftsmanship, each of the 17 residential-style guest rooms carries its own distinct personality shaped by unique light, color, and texture, with many opening directly onto private terraces, gardens, or the pool.

At the heart of the estate lies a semi-wild garden sanctuary, a fifteen-year passion project by Christopher Sharp filled with citrus trees, palms, jasmine, and rosemary. This lush oasis sets a slower rhythm of living that extends directly to the dining experience, led by Executive Chef Dex Oseman of London’s famed The River Café. The restaurant celebrates ingredient-led Mediterranean cooking rooted in seasonality, with candlelit dinners spilling into the courtyard beneath the palms. Meanwhile, the estate’s original house kitchen remains a nostalgic focal point, bustling with the creation of traditional Maltese pastries, fresh pasta, and oranges picked straight from the trees.

Perfectly positioned between the baroque splendor of Valletta and the ancient walled city of Mdina, Casa Bonavita serves as an ideal launchpad for exploring Malta through a more nuanced, insider lens. The hotel will soon expand its offerings to include a curated wellness program alongside its existing pools, hammam, sauna, and gym. Also on the horizon is the unveiling of The Folly Suite—the hotel’s crown jewel—which offers a secluded, villa-style residence complete with its own rooftop terrace and private swimming pool. Ultimately, Casa Bonavita is designed as a living love letter to Malta, inviting travelers to immerse themselves in the island’s quieter beauty and enduring sense of home.

CLARIDGE’S X THE NEWT IN SOMERSET

Where rural riches meet Art Deco elegance in Mayfair this springImage

Somerset

This May, Claridge’s will partner with The Newt in Somerset to bring a two-week collaboration to Mayfair, marking the estate’s return to London following its sponsorship of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Running from 18 to 31 May 2026, the initiative will combine large-scale installation, seasonal menus and a dedicated stay experience, introducing the character and produce of Somerset to the capital.

At the centre of the collaboration is A Farm in Mayfair, a sculptural installation in Claridge’s Art Deco lobby. Rising six metres high, the woven willow structure has been created by British artisans using traditional techniques, under the direction of The Newt’s team. The piece features a series of animals, including water buffalo, British White cattle, a stag, a ram, ewes and chickens, arranged in an upward composition that reflects the rhythm of rural life. The installation culminates in a single egg, representing origin and renewal. Additional willow elements will frame The Foyer restaurant and extend to the hotel’s exterior.

Throughout the partnership, guests will encounter displays of apples across the hotel, with visitors invited to take fruit as they pass through the space. The selection includes green Granny Smith apples, accented with gold tones that reference the shared attention to detail across both properties.

Menus in The Foyer and Reading Room will highlight ingredients sourced from The Newt’s estate, including heritage tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella produced at the estate’s creamery, and British White beef and lamb. Seasonal desserts will feature rhubarb, strawberry and apple, while Claridge’s Bar will serve The Newt’s cyder. A limited-edition Claridge’s X The Newt tote bag will also be available both in-store and online.

A dedicated Claridge’s X The Newt stay package will be available during the collaboration, including accommodation with breakfast, a three-course meal in The Foyer, and a selection of welcome items from The Newt. Rates start from £1,220.

Thomas Kochs, Managing Director of Claridge’s, commented: “We are pleased to welcome The Newt to Claridge’s at the start of the summer season, when London is in full bloom. Our lobby will once again become a focal point, bringing together creativity, craftsmanship and a sense of occasion for our guests.”

Andrew Foulkes, CEO of Hospitality at The Newt in Somerset, added: “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to quality, hospitality and craftsmanship. Bringing the character of The Newt to Claridge’s offers an opportunity to present our produce and perspective in a new context.”

Claridge’s X The Newt in Somerset will take place from 18 to 31 May 2026 in Mayfair. Further details are available at maybourne.com.
