Perowne International is delighted to have been engaged to represent the UK communications for Harbour Hotels.  A truly British brand, the collection of 15 properties boasts some of the most enticing locations across the South of England – from seafronts to harbours, to royal parks and historic manor houses on country estates, stretching across Cornwall to Devon, Dorset, Sussex, and key cities including Bristol, Brighton and London. Each property has a unique personality – one is housed in an historic former bank, whilst another has been designed to mirror a superyacht pointing out to sea. Many feature excellent destination restaurants championing seasonal locally sourced ingredients, fabulous bars, excellent spas and first-class event facilities. The coastal properties are in prime positions with breath-taking views and beach access, whilst city hotels offer guests the very best of the destination with brilliant local experiences.
This summer will see two exciting new launches from Harbour Hotels – a brand new opening in Salcombe, Harbour Beach Club & Hotel, offering an exceptional beach holiday on the British coast, and the reopening of the completely refurbished Richmond Harbour Hotel & Spa, perfectly positioned to offer both city and country with its location on the peak of Richmond Hill. Elsewhere, fresh renovations will be revealed at properties in Chichester and Cornwall.

THE CREAM OF CORNWALL
St. Ives Harbour Hotel & Spa, one of Cornwall’s finest properties receives a fresh facelift ahead of its opening on 17 May. Offering guests an oasis just a stone’s throw away from the pristine Porthminster Beach, the refurbishment has seen the exterior as well as the interiors receive a makeover. All rooms have been renovated with a chic colour scheme of pink, blue and green, while the exterior has been repainted in a charming Cornish slate colour, decorated with beautiful hanging baskets, new signage and botanical plants. The outdoor terrace has also been modernised, while keeping the property’s British sophistication. A true refuge from city life, the 52-room sea-view property is the perfect antidote for travellers of all ages looking to reset, disconnect and spend some much-needed time outdoors. Other Harbour Hotels in Cornwall are located in Fowey and Padstow.

SENSATIONAL CITY BREAKS
Fresh from a £1m renovation of all the bedrooms, Chichester Harbour Hotel & Spa will re-open on 17 May. The 37-room boutique hotel with spa and in-house restaurant is set in a beautiful restored Grade II listed Georgian property, located in the heart of historic Chichester. The rooms have been decorated in a neutral and calming base palette with punchy and colourful patterns and fabrics. In keeping with its setting, there are nods to the English countryside dotted throughout the rooms: think botanical printed velvet curtains, natural sisal carpets, soft and textured bed throws, custom bespoke furniture and gilded mirrors, soft lamp lighting and limited-edition art prints. There are also ultra-comfortable new beds with oversized tufted headboards, oversized scatter cushions and pure linen fabrics, while the bathrooms have also been given a fresh lift. Chichester is home to the stunning Chichester Cathedral, and presents lovely walking and bike ride opportunities, making it the perfect city for a quintessential British staycation.  Other city hotels are located in Southampton, Brighton and Bristol.

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD
Harbour Hotels is introducing a new foodie concept, Harbour Kitchen, to five of its properties – Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa, Padstow Harbour Hotel, St Ives Harbour Hotel & Spa, Fowey Harbour Hotel and Bristol Harbour Hotel & Spa. Harbour Kitchen will pride itself on championing Great British classics with unexpected twists, offering in-season, sustainable and local food produce. John Pollard, the Group Executive Chef, is a great supporter of locally sourced food and the menus will comprise the likes of wild-caught seafood, grass-fed meat and fresh seasonal produce as well as internationally inspired dishes such as steamed mussels with Thai coconut chill & lime, confit duck croquettes, miso pickled cucumber and crispy chilli oil and seabass fillet with mussels, pak choi and miso broth.
For a more formal affair, head to The Jetty which has Chef Patron Alex Aitken, one of England’s most respected chefs, at the helm and spans across three Harbour Hotel sites all boasting spectacular seafront locations including Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa, Salcombe Harbour Hotel & Spa and Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa. Alex’s culinary journey began on the seas, where he worked as a trawler man, giving him unparalleled knowledge of fish and seafood. He then moved to the New Forest and at the age of 25 set up “Le Poussin” restaurant, teaching himself to cook and ultimately gaining a Michelin Star in 1995 which he kept for 14 years. His philosophy of cooking is all about serving spontaneous and fresh, seasonal menus bursting with local flavours. Signature items on the menu include Alex’s Twice Baked Cheese Soufflé which can be enjoyed with added smoked haddock, plump cod fillet topped with a crab and herb crust or an indulgent Surf & Turf platter with garlic tiger prawns, scallops, crispy squid and sirloin served with steak salad.
