INTRODUCING 12|14 STRADOM HOUSE KRAKOW, POLAND – OPENING MAY 2023

April 18thKRAKOW

A brand new hospitality destination is coming to the historical city of Krakow this Spring.  With a storied past, dating back to the 14th century, 12|14 Stradom House, located in a former church and monastery, sees heritage reborn, bringing the charm of its past into the present, inviting guests to discover its legacy, whilst offering an uplifting ‘home away from home’.

The hotel is perfectly situated between the historical Jewish and Royal Quarters, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Krakow’s buzzing Old Town and Wawel Castle, providing the ideal base to discover Krakow’s attractions and rich history. This year Krakow’s cultural calendar is thriving as it plays host to the 3rd European Games this summer with other cultural events including Krakow Art Week in May and the International Festival of Independent Cinema, ‘Off Camera’ , taking place in April and May.

A TRIBUTE TO HISTORY AND HERITAGE
12|14 Stradom House’s meticulous and sensitive transformation spotlights new ways to fuse modernity and heritage and sees frescoes and high ceilings restored with the use of bold colours and textures. Interiors are by the leading design company ADC Atelier, whose founder is behind the design of high-profile projects such as the exclusive Members Club, Soho House. 12|14 Stradom House building is embracing its historical features with polish modernism to create a hotel steeped in authenticity and heritage. The lobby captures Krakow’s rich history and culture through mineral salt inspired walls, classic Krakow tiled floor patterns, rugs based on 17th-century tapestries and locally sourced vintage furniture. The colour palettes in the artfully designed rooms reference the Krakow skyline, with soft pinks and patinated blues. Classic details are offset with modern furniture such as leather-clad, high-gloss desks and vintage furniture that have been reupholstered in modern fabrics. Local talent and craftsmanship is spotlighted throughout with specifically commissioned artwork by local Polish artists including Przemek Pyszczek, Marcin Janusz and Dorota Buczkowska, adorned on the walls of each room. Ideal for groups or multi-gen families, the spacious 155 sqm Chapel Loft – the largest suite in the city – oozes sophistication and comprises a master bedroom, a private kitchen with a large dining table accommodating up to 10 guests and a grand piano.

DETOX & RETOX
A new Krakow foodie hotspot for locals and guests alike, 12|14 Stradom House will feature three restaurants and bars – John Dory, an elegant seafood restaurant with playful underwater interiors and salt pink marbles that nod to the local salt mines. Guests can choose exceptional fine dining dishes from the Chef ’s Table or enjoy an intimate dining experience in the private dining room. Fresh Mediterranean inspired dishes will be served at Gaia restaurant and highlights include the Rib Eye Shawarma with Tahini and Green Chili Paste. Lush green plants populate this light space and full height patio doors provide a fluid flow to the courtyard, further provoking ideas of Mediterranean dining. The jewel of the crown is Hedwig’s Club housed in the Church of St. Hedwig. The world-class bar and wine cellar takes centre stage in this majestic space and combines baroque details and modernist twists with a colour palette inspired by the patinated copper roofs of Krakow. Here, guests can enjoy creative cocktails such as N2, a truffle-infused Bourbon cocktail. Those looking to drink in the privacy of their suite can benefit from the in-room bartender service as staff shake up signature cocktails and mocktails suite-side.

To unwind after exploring the historic city, guests can benefit from the incredible Sól spa in partnership with Alexandra Soveral that showcases award winning products that are hand blended using natural raw ingredients for a holistic and luxurious experience. Soothing facials and body treatments can be enjoyed in the atmospheric cave-like treatment rooms. Inspired by local salt mining traditions, signature Salt Bath treatments are a highlight and incorporate the natural salts and healing essential oils for the ultimate relaxation. Upon departure guests will be gifted their own oil that was used during their treatments and uniquely tailored to the individual. Promising a city sanctuary to rejuvenate the mind and body, Sól’s facilities also include a stunning 20-meter indoor pool, fully-equipped 24/7 gym and a variety of wet facilities, including a steam room, hydromassage showers, bio sauna, infrared salt sauna and sound room.
