Eleven Experience is honoured to have acquired Cedar Lodge on the South Island of New Zealand and will be operating it as an Eleven Experience Lodge in collaboration with the previous owners for the upcoming 2019/20 fishing season. Cedar Lodge has long been renowned for its helicopter fly-out angling program, offering passionate anglers a paradise in which to target trophy-sized rainbow and brown trout in and around Mount Aspiring National Park.

From this remote and rugged area of New Zealand, Eleven Experience will continue to offer the Cedar Lodge tradition of unforgettable heli-fishing experiences. Cedar Lodge is a superb addition to Eleven’s collection of world-class angling destinations, including Deplar Farm in northern Iceland, Taylor River Lodge in Colorado, Rio Palena Lodge in southern Chile, and our two live-aboard motherships; the Eleven Mothership and the Outpost Mothership, which move between the fabled flats of Louisiana, the Florida Everglades, the Marquesas Keys and West Andros, Bahamas.

The award-winning Cedar Lodge sleeps eight across four rooms and is highly regarded as the premier fly-fishing property in the South Island region with over 30 years’ experience offering incredible heli-fishing and heli-hiking experiences to its loyal and adventurous guests. The remote property is located in beautiful surroundings on a five-acre plot between the banks of the Makarora River and the Mount Aspiring National Park. Guests are only minutes away from some of New Zealand’s most remote streams in which to fish for rainbow and brown trout. The flights from the lodge’s doorstep into the mountain valleys are an awe-inspiring experience with aerial views over beech forests, waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, glaciers and gin clear streams.

At Cedar Lodge, when guests are not experiencing the majestic scenery New Zealand has to offer, the expert team of in-house chefs are preparing delicious meals for guests to enjoy every evening using the best ‘clean and green’ produce from the area alongside the region’s world-class lamb, fresh seafood and award-winning New Zealand wines.

Eleven Experience is an adventure travel company with properties around the globe. At each destination, comfortable lodging and delicious, seasonal food are combined with guided outdoor adventures on mountains, in the backcountry, and on the water for guests of all ages and skill levels. No matter how remote, every lodge has custom, well designed accommodations, talented chefs, enticing spas, and world-class guides to show guests new dimensions of life, friendship, family, and adventure. Whether heli-skiing near the Arctic Circle in Iceland or casting for bonefish on a secluded flat in the Bahamas, Eleven Experiences are a different kind of escape.

Eleven’s mission is to custom-make powerful fishing experiences that will take its guests from remote flats in the Bahamas, Florida, and Louisiana to glacier-carved river valleys in Iceland and Chile, to pristine lakes and creeks in the U.S. Rockies.

Rates: Starting at £4,918 per person for 4 nights and 3 days of fishing, based on double occupancy. Rates include accommodation, meals, drink, guiding services and daily helicopter fly-out (weather permitting). Heli-hiking packages price out the same as fishing. Air charter or coach to the lodge is available on request at an additional charge. Location: Cedar Lodge is a five-hour drive from Christchurch Airport and a one hour and forty-five-minute drive from Queenstown.
