Launching next month just mere moments from Baden-Baden’s best-loved heritage hotel, Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, the Museum Frieder Burda will be exhibiting the world-famous Banksy shredded artwork ‘Love is in the Bin’. In October last year, the ‘Girl with a Balloon’ painting was sold for €1.2 million at the prestigious Sotheby’s Auction in London, before automatically shredding itself live at the auction right as the mallet hammered down to confirm the sale. The painting has since been renamed ‘Love is in the Bin’. From 5 February to 3 March, the now illustrious piece of art will be displayed at the Museum Freider Burda for its first official international presentation, alongside a symposium that will explore all the questions that have arisen surrounding this ‘new wave’ of contemporary art. As a staunch supporter of the arts, Oetker Collection’s flagship hotel affectionately known as ‘Brenners’ invites art lovers to escape to the Black Forest with its new ‘Brenners meets Bansky’ package. After an indulgent night spent in one of the hotel’s beautiful guestrooms, guests will be escorted to the museum for an exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ visit, where they will be able to marvel first-hand at Bansky’s masterpiece. After a day steeped in culture, guests can unwind at Villa Stéphanie, the region’s most cutting-edge medi-spa, adjacent to the hotel.
