At Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman – long considered one of the finest resorts in the Middle East – ingredients are harvested from the resort’s very own Organic Garden for use in guests’ bespoke spa treatments, such as homegrown cucumber slices for toner, figs as face scrub, and Omani honey as a natural face mask to create an ‘Arabian Facial’ that is ideal for nourishing and refreshing all skin types.  The three-hour ‘Wonders of Oman’ spa ritual is another locally inspired cleansing journey using ingredients from the Organic Garden, that begins with a Zighy salt bath with fresh mint and a body scrub made from locally-picked dates, honey and almond powder, followed by a body massage using homemade frankincense oil to complete the journey.  At Six Senses Zil Pasyon, using the base ingredient of locally reaped grapeseed oil throughout the spa, the resort affords visitors the opportunity to craft their own ‘Deep Relax Oil’ comprising the likes of 100% natural sea salt to remove dead skin cells and draw toxins out of the body; dried rosebuds and rose petals for hydration; dried lavender and chamomile flowers for their relaxing and healing properties; dried rosemary to stimulate blood circulation and detoxify the body; brown sugar as a nourishing preservative, and many more carefully selected nutrient-rich ingredients.  These are all-natural herbs, spices, flowers, fruit and vegetables, sea salt, oats, sanitised sea sand and coffee.  The resort’s self-coined ‘Muscle Melt Oil’ is made up of materials such as fresh ginger root to detoxify and purify, with key antibacterial purposes; star anise for its anti-rheumatic and digestion-aiding properties; and coriander seed, to deeply cleanse the body from the inside out.  www.sixsenses.com
