THE KENSINGTON LAUNCHES HOTEL PACKAGE CELEBRATING THE OPENING OF DIOR EXHIBITION AT V&A

Coinciding with the opening of the Victoria & Albert Museum’s new exhibition, ‘Christian Dior – Designer of Dreams’, The Kensington is offering an overnight suite package including tickets to the exhibition and a specially created cocktail, inspired by Dior’s first couture collection

February 2ndLondon

London’s finest townhouse hotel, The Kensington is launching an exclusive new package ‘The House of Kensington’ to celebrate the opening of ‘Christian Dior – Designer of Dreams’ at the nearby Victoria & Albert Museum.  The three-night package will be available for stays between February – June 2019 and includes a stay in one of the hotel’s sumptuous Signature Suites, two tickets to the exhibition and a round of bespoke ‘The Corolle’ cocktails.  This exclusive cocktail has been specially created by the hotel’s K Bar, inspired by Dior’s first collection in 1947 named ‘La Ligne Corolle’, an elevated twist on the classic ‘French 75’, served in a cut crystal glass flute.

The V&A’s ‘Christian Dior – Designer of Dreams’ exhibition will trace the history of Dior from his first collection to present day. It will also explore his relationship with Britain, a place he was particularly fond of and inspired by. Following a visit to the V&A, just a 10-minute stroll away, guests will retreat to one of The Kensington’s plush Signature Suites. The suites are likened to spacious, private apartments, some complemented with Juliette balconies overlooking the leafy corner of South Kensington’s classic thoroughfares. The largest of the suites, The Brompton is a graceful throwback to Victorian grandeur, while the second largest, The Knightsbridge takes the same classical template and casts it in a more vibrant, contemporary rendering.

As part of The Doyle Collection’s ‘Slice of The City’ initiative, The Kensington has an ongoing affiliation with the iconic V&A Museum, providing guests with the opportunity for exclusive access and last-minute tickets. Thanks to the hotel’s close proximity to London’s ‘museum mile’ and a continuing association with the likes of V&A and Royal Albert Hall, The Kensington is a cultural hub in the city.

The Kensington – in the heart of South Kensington

The Kensington is London’s finest townhouse hotel, sitting in the heart of South Kensington, where Queen’s Gate meets the Old Brompton Road and comprises four traditional white Victorian townhouses. Set amongst the leafy squares, museums and parks of the Royal borough, The Kensington feels more like a beautiful private residence than traditional hotel. Town House is the fabulous hotel restaurant, which is interconnected with The Drawing Rooms on the ground floor, ideal for elegant afternoon tea in front of the open fire or a relaxed meeting, while K Bar is their glamorous bar, a perfect hotspot for delicious cocktails and snacks. It comprises of 126 rooms and 24 suites, all of which are individually designed with elegant fabrics and hand-picked furniture to compliment the hotel’s period architecture. Kensington is one of London’s most affluent and exclusive neighbourhoods – home to the monarchy at Kensington Palace since 1689 and the official ‘royal borough’ since 1901.

HOW: The House of Kensington package starts from £1,800. The package includes a three-night stay in a Signature Suite on a B&B basis based on two sharing, two tickets to the V&A’s ‘Christian Dior – Designer of Dreams’ exhibition and two Corolle cocktails at K Bar.
