THE TRIUMPHAL ARCH

The Triumphal Arch is a Grade I listed building, designed by the renowned architect, William Kent, that was actually completed before the build of Holkham Hall was finished. Located at the top of the south avenue that leads to the Obelisk and Holkham Hall beyond, it was initially built to impress travellers passing through on their way to the north Norfolk coastline. Over the years many have used the accommodation in the arch, from farm workers and shepherds to various members of the Coke family. In its latest role as a romantic bolthole, The Triumphal Arch boasts a large king size bedroom on the first floor with a roll top bath at one end of the room and a cosy seating area with open fire place at the other. Enjoying panaromic views along the avenue in both directions, the property also has a compact ground floor kitchen with basic cooking facilities, a ground floor cloakroom and a stone spiral staircase, which leads up to the bedroom, shower room and separate WC. HOW: Rates from £128 per night (3-night minimum stay)*

PALMERS FOLLY

Palmers Folly is located to the east side of the grade II listed property and is situated in a wooded area of the park on the quiet Golden Gate Drive, just a 15-minute walk away from Holkham Hall. Ideal for couples, Palmers Folly has a ground floor studio room with king-sized bed, ensuite WC and separate shower room, comfortable seating around a wood burning stove, freeview TV as well as basic kitchen facilities including a toaster, fridge and kettle. HOW: Rates from £95 per night (3-night minimum stay)*
