Having undergone major refurbishment, the entire property will unveil a fresh design with a contemporary twist which will see its 40 rooms, suites and junior suites, four two-bedroom villas and Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant ‘Le Saint-Martin’ injected with a new lease of life – in addition to the property’s exquisite gardens, dotted with century-old olive trees. The interior spaces retain the estate’s historic charm, but with a vibrant, more modern energy flowing throughout. Guests visiting Château Saint-Martin & Spa for private events will also be able to enjoy the improvements made to the private rooms – the Matisse, Chagall and Cap d’Antibes – which have been renovated using a warm, welcoming colour scheme.

Château Saint-Martin & Spa has been enhanced by renowned interior designer and architect, Bergit Countess Douglas of MM Design, based in Frankfurt, Germany. All of the materials used have been meticulously selected, including fabrics and trimmings from France by Pierre Frey, Manuel Canovas, Fadini Borghi and Les Passementeries de l’Ile de France – also used throughout sister property, Le Bristol Paris – as well as bed skirts, cushions and benches made in England by Baker Lifestyle, Ian Mankin and Colefax & Fowler. The materials used include linen in soft, pale colours, as well as more vivid shades such as coral, blue, mint green, plum, lilac and red.

The character-steeped rooms, suites, junior suites and villas are now brighter and airier with natural wood flooring and fine upholstery. All guestrooms retain their breathtaking views for which the Château is famed, taking in the Côte d’Azur from Nice to Cannes. For the more private traveller, there are six villas dotted along the hillside, each crafted in traditional Bastide style. Restaurant ‘Le Saint-Martin’ is now fully decked out in warm coral tones – a sparkling new setting for an exceptional culinary experience. Occupying a special spot in the Château with sweeping views over the countryside down to the Mediterranean, the interiors have been restyled ‘as fresh as the season’. Chef Jean-Luc Lefrançois draws inspiration from seasonal produce to give each dish a distinctive flavour of summer, wedding perfectly to the refreshed interiors.

Rates at Château Saint-Martin & Spa start from €310 (currently approx. £275) per night on a room only basis in a Deluxe Room based on two people sharing
